2nd Electronic Registration

Before personally starting the doctoral examination procedure at the Dean's office (= Submission of the dissertation), binding electronic registration is required. Registration should not take place until after completion of your dissertation and shortly before submission of all documents to the Dean's office. For submission, please make an appointment early.

Documents to be submitted:

Once registration has been successfully completed, please submit your application in person together with the following documents:

  • Printed submission to doctoral project
  • Letter from your supervisor (Reviewer Sheet)
  • ID card / passport (for inspection only)
  • Marriage certificate or birth certificate (please present the original and a copy or a certified copy from the family or birth register)
  • Curriculum vitae (personally signed and dated)
  • Certificates: Masters, Diploma or State Examination (certificated copy or presentation of original and copy)
  • Certificate of enrollment at Marien University Hospital & School Gelsenkirchen during the whole doctoral project ("Immatrikulationsbescheinigung")
  • Certificate confirming your participation in iGRAD’s seminar on "Good Scientific Research" (original and copy)
  • One bound copy of your dissertation (no spiral binding) per reviewer and one for the Dean's office (four copies if your grade may be summa cum laude). The dissertation must include one written summary (one in English or one in German) and your statutory declaration. (PO § 5 section 1b; § 6 section 5)
  • Before your appointment, please upload a digital version of your dissertation (compressed to max. 10MB, as PDF) and an abstract of your dissertation (max. one DIN A4 page, as PDF) at the following link: Document Upload

Submission

The documents must be submitted in person at the doctoral office. Please make an appointment for submission early (via E-Mail or phone)
