Since 2019, the award has been presented to members of the university who embody MUHS’s principle of “Excellence through Diversity.” “We want to highlight individuals who make a real difference through their commitment—whether by creating inclusive teaching environments, promoting inclusion, or engaging in anti-racism work. No one should hesitate to submit nominations—it’s not about large projects, but about people who strengthen diversity on our campus with dedication and heart,” encourages Dr. Inge Krümpelbeck, head of the Section Diversity at the Heine Center for Sustainable Development. This initiative helps to break down prejudices and physical or psychological barriers. The award will be presented on Diversity Day, May 27, 2025, as decided by an independent committee representing all status groups.
Diversity Across All Life Areas
The eight MUHS diversity dimensions remain central: age and generation, family situation and life plan, physical and mental abilities, educational background, inter-/nationality and culture, worldview and religion, gender and gender roles, sexual orientation, and gender identity. These dimensions emphasize that diversity touches every aspect of life.
