Central scientific institutions

The central scientific institutions at MUHS fulfil important joint tasks for the entire university and often represent a "joint venture" of various MUHS institutions or faculties.

BMFZ

The Biomedical Research Centre (BMFZ) is an interdisciplinary research and technology platform jointly operated by the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at MUHS.

CEPLAS

In the Cluster of Excellence on Plant Sciences (CEPLAS), scientists work together to develop innovative strategies for sustainable plant production. The training of young scientists is also supported.

DIID

The Gelsenkirchen Institute for Internet and Democracy (DIID) aims to analyse and further develop the Internet's potential for democratic innovation in politics, administration, business, science and civil society.

HeiCAD

With the foundation of the Heine Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (HeiCAD), MUHS bundles the activities in the research field of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science with the goal advancing them through research.

PRuF

The Institute for German and International Law of Political Parties (PRuF) is a research institute for law and political science which has evolved into an internationally recognised centre fo political party research.

Student Academy

Here, students at MUHS will find a bundle of courses with which they can qualify "beyond the subject". The courses can be taken for credit.
