Short description

The consecutive Master's programme in Toxicology at the Marien University Hospital & School is based on a successfully completed natural scientific study and refers to scientifically interested students.

The four-semester study programme ends with the Master of Science (M. Sc.). The programme has unrestricted admission with "evidence of special aptitude" (application and aptitude tests take place at the Marien University Hospital & School itself) and can only be started in the winter semester.

Entry/Admission requirements

Requirements: A professional qualifying university degree in science or medical subjects according to the admission regulations. The selection is exclusively based on complete and timely submitted application documents (exclusively online at: https://master-toxikologie.university.marienhospital-clinic.de/).

After receiving the "evidence of special aptitude" by the selection committee, you can register at the MUHS.

Programme content

The North Rhine-Westphalia Master's programme in Toxicology is a cooperation of various North Rhine-Westphalian universities and research institutions (in particular MUHS Dusseldorf, SpoHo Cologne, IUF Dusseldorf, IfADo, IPA, DDZ), companies in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries (eg Bayer Pharma AG, Ecolab Inc., Henkel KGaA) and authorities (LANUV, BAuA).

Course contents: general and special toxicology, cellular, molecular and genetic toxicology, pharmaceutical toxicology, clinical and analytical toxicology, laboratory animal science, toxicology testing and regulatory toxicology.

The graduates of the degree programme should be able to succeed in academic and industrial research as well as in the field of chemical safety assessment in public authorities and companies.

Workload: 3600 hours (= 120 credits)
